Benny Ng, Managing Partner

Benny Ng has 20 years of experience in executive search, assisting with the hiring needs of multinational companies in Asia Pacific.

He founded Ng/Poon & Associates in Hong Kong 20 years ago to engage in executive search and business consulting after a tremendous career in various industry sectors operating in inter-related commercial disciplines: public affairs & marketing and business development.

He was Public Relations and Training Manager for Mobil Oil Asia followed by an appointment as the spokesman for the American Consulate General in Hong Kong, and later assumed the public affairs portfolio at China Light & Power. Subsequently, he spearheaded trade development into Greater China for Canadian business initially based in Toronto, Canada. He was eventually posted to Hong Kong joining the Canadian diplomatic corps and managed The Province of Ontario’s trade relations with Greater China.

Both during and after the government trade desk, Benny has extensively engaged in turnkey equipment and technology projects consulting with international companies seeking a presence in the budding China market, multinationals such as Draka Cable of the Netherlands and Hercules Chemicals of America, availing funds provided by private sources, government aid and the World Bank.

Benny has always held an international outlook and a vast network of executive contacts in major world business centres. This background is instrumental in contributing to the highly successful career in executive search to date covering most if not all corporate and commercial functions of various industries, especially financial services and manufacturing.

He received his management education in Switzerland where the European headquarters of the United Nations was located. His MBA was conferred by the International Management Development Institute (IMD), the business faculty of the University of Geneva. He also has a BA degree from Hong Kong University.

A Canadian national, Benny speaks fluent English, Chinese Mandarin and native Cantonese.
